Cradle Mountain Hotel is nestled in the alpine woodlands at the northern end of the breathtaking Cradle Mountain – Lake St Clair National Park. This wonderful escape showcases the absolute best this region has to offer with warm and welcoming hospitality, sensational local food and wine, indulgent spa facilities and breathtaking scenery. Located approximately two hours from Launceston and four hours from Hobart, our 60 room hotel also incorporates the award-winning Altitude restaurant and stunning Cradle Mountain Wilderness Gallery.

What you’ll do: 

We’re on the lookout for a passionate and experienced hospitality professional to step into the full-time role of Restaurant & Cafe Manager Reporting to the General Manager, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine, long-term impact across multiple venues.

In this role, you’ll take ownership of the food & beverage experience for our tour and group bookings—managing everything from initial enquiry through to delivery, ensuring every detail runs seamlessly. You’ll also play a key role in elevating the à la carte experience at our Altitude Restaurant and Lounge Bar, bringing fresh ideas and energy to enhance our guest offering.

In addition, you’ll oversee our Visitor Centre Cafe (just a short 5-minute drive away), ensuring a consistently high standard across all locations.

On a daily basis you’ll: 

  • Oversee and support the daily operations of Altitude Restaurant, Lounge Bar and Visitor Centre Cafe, ensuring smooth and efficient service. 
  • Manage front of house rostering, recruitment, and team development, fostering a motivated and high-performing culture for all venues. 
  • Be accountable for profitability of venues and maintain stock levels, ensuring timely and accurate order processing and financials. 
  • Work collaboratively and professionally with the Head Chef and Heads of Department across the property to deliver a cohesive guest and customer experience. 

What you’ll bring:   

  • Proven experience in a food & beverage leadership role (2+ years), with multi-venue experience highly regarded
  • A strong focus on guest experience, with the ability to confidently engage, build rapport and deliver memorable service
  • A hands-on leadership style, with experience building, coaching and developing high-performing teams
  • Commercial awareness, including experience managing stock, costs and driving venue profitability
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-site environment and juggle competing priorities
  • A good understanding of current food, beverage and service trends, with a passion for continuous improvement
  • Sound knowledge of wine, including food pairings
  • Experience working in a remote location (desirable, not essential)
  • A valid RSA and DoFoodSafely Certificate
  • Own reliable transport (essential)
  • An openness to embrace a regional lifestyle, where you can balance a hands-on leadership role with the benefits of living and working in a unique destination
