To provide support and reduction of risk to Mr Price of factories and suppliers by ensuring suppliers have a strategic plan that they are responsibly executing and updating progress. The role provides oversight, monitoring, evaluation and reporting on the impact of compliance.
Research & Strategy Development
1.Keep abreast of best responsible business practices per
region, to reduce risk and drive supplier compliance
2. Research on New factories for production on new products
in collaboration with sourcing.
3. Create regional and supplier based compliance-readiness
strategies based on research and PM's.
4. Develop and implement responsible and sustainable
sourcing strategy and program, including relevant policies, standards, and
processes.
Compliance Implementing & Monitoring
1. Ensure suppliers have a strategy towards BBEE and factory
social compliance
2. Assist supplier in execution of supplier strategy for
BBEE compliance and factory social compliance and update on progress
3. Support and give guidance to supplier on action plans to
remediation and communicate progress
4.Support suppliers and Merch team in achieving specific
factory manufacturing and social compliance with regards to special DTR brands
agreements
Communication and Reporting
1.Communication to Directors on progress of BBEE and factory
social compliance and highlight risk areas
2.Prepare Board reporting with regards to compliance
3. Prepare reports in response to adhoc raids and factory
compliance issues
4.Build strong and strategic relationships with suppliers
5.Plan prepare and execute Seasonal readiness strategy of
suppliers and their factories
6.Work closely with Sourcing and Merch to support product
strategy timeously
Tertiary qualification (degree, diploma or national
certificate) - in clothing management preferably
6+ years of work history (any, however ideally exp in a
senior or managerial role would be advantageous) in responsible sourcing,
sustainability, or related function within the fashion and/or retail
industries; Occupational Health & Safety Training/ Compliance Training
(International and SA) ; Tableau; Demonstrated success in managing complex
multi-stakeholder programs and developing policies and standard operating
procedures ; Capacity to make decisions and work through ambiguity with minimal
oversight and direction ; High ethical standards and commitment to diversity,
equity, and inclusion
Compliance / Social Audits /Sustainability/ Ethics/ Ethical
Sourcing Principles/ Social Responsibility Standards/BBBEE /Knowledge of global
and domestic supply chain sustainability issues and best practice.
