
Ohel is looking for Respite Counselors who are creative, dedicated, and responsible to work one-on-one with youth who have mental health challenges or who are medically fragile and live at home in the community. Respite focuses on short-term assistance provided to youth, to enhance the family’s ability to support the youth’s functional, developmental, behavioral health, and/or health care needs.
Requirements:
Valid NY or NJ Driver’s license preferred. Good English communication skills a must. Flexible part time, after school hours. Locations include Brooklyn, Queens, Far Rockaway and Long Island.
Salary: $19.00-$22.00 per hour

Starting as a foster care provider for Jewish families in the New York metropolitan area, today Ohel cares for more than 17,000 individuals from all communities through a broad range of programs including mental health services, housing, elder care, respite for parents with a child with disabilities, outpatient counseling for everyday people with everyday problems, and trauma resources for communities in New York and across the nation.
