Job Description

Advanced Houston Specialty Hospital is looking for a Respiratory Therapist to provide safe, compassionate and effective respiratory care in our newly renovated facility at 205 Hollow Tree Lane, Spring, TX

Compensation starting at $35.00 per hour.

As a Respiratory Therapist you will be responsible for assessing, treating and monitoring patients with cardiopulmonary disorders in accordance with physician orders.

Essential Functions:

  1. Evaluate, treat, and monitor patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions.
  2. Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including arterial blood gas sampling, pulmonary function testing, and bronchodilator therapy.
  3. Assess patient responses and modify therapy as clinically indicated.
  4. Administer oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, and chest physiotherapy.
  5. Manage invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation, including setup, monitoring, and weaning protocols.
  6. Assist with airway management procedures such as endotracheal intubation and tracheostomy care.
  7. Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
  8. Educate staff on proper management of the TREC during times when a respiratory therapist is not on duty.
  9. Review and maintain respiratory therapy supplies and notify procurement team and supervisor when supplies reach target level or are immediately needed.
  10. Document assessments, treatments, and patient outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  11. Provide patient and family education on respiratory care, equipment use, and self-management strategies.
  12. Adhere to infection control, patient safety, and quality standards.
  13. Maintain knowledge of Texas Medical Board regulations and practice within scope of licensure.

It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her scope of work as determined by management.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy from a CoARC-accredited program required; Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Care or related field preferred. Current Texas Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license issued by the Texas Medical Board. Required certification and licensure as follows: Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support. Prior clinical or hospital experience preferred; new graduates with RRT credentials are encouraged to apply. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.

Post Hire Requirements:

Must successfully complete annual requirements to include maintaining licenses, certifications, and passing an annual background check.
