Why This Respiratory Therapist Role Is Different
This role offers a steady, predictable schedule with minimal on-call responsibility while still providing variety through occasional patient visits and telehealth support. You will be part of a small, hands-on team that values collaboration and personalized patient care.
This role offers a consistent daytime schedule with flexible hours, allowing for a strong work‑life balance. On‑call responsibilities are minimal, occurring only once per month, and you’ll be part of a supportive, teamwork‑driven branch culture that values collaboration and patient care. Mileage, parking, and tolls are fully reimbursed, and the position provides an ideal balance of in‑office stability with light fieldwork to keep each day engaging.
Key Highlights
Work Arrangement: On-site; 80% office / 20% field
Hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM; flexible
Travel Radius: Up to 2 hours from branch
Salary range
$30 per hour. Compensation offered may vary based on job-related factors such as experience, skills, education and location.
On-Call transparency
Rotation once per month.
What you’ll do
Conduct home visits to perform oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment setups and follow‑ups
Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance
Assess patient needs, document care delivered, and escalate concerns appropriately
Respond to hospital discharge requests and support patient needs
Collaborating with physicians, case managers, and internal branch teams
Maintain accurate documentation using iPad/laptop
Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment, including, but not limited to, oxygen therapy, nebulization therapy, apnea monitoring, suctioning, PAP, invasive and non-invasive ventilation
Inspects and tests equipment to ensure proper operating condition
Perform clinical assessments and tests such as pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry and gathering vital signs
Performs other duties as required
What we look for
Registered Respiratory Therapist with an active MI RT license.
Open to all experience levels, including new graduates.
Ability to stand, lift, push and/or pull objects ranging from 10 – 50 lbs.
Valid driver's license
Comfortable using mobile technology, navigation tools, and digital documentation
Education
Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
Certificates, licenses, registrations or professional designations
Hold a current RCP license in the state of practice (or states that the location covers) if that state requires an RCP license to allow the practice of respiratory therapy
Hold a current CPR Certification
Hold all applicable licensure in good standing for all states of practice
