Why is this Respiratory Therapist role different

This role combines clinical autonomy with strong team support. You will work across a growing market, performing varied respiratory procedures while partnering with a collaborative, training-focused branch team.

Key highlights

  • Work Arrangement: On-site daily with 2–3 days on the road.

  • Hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM.

  • Travel: 30–45 minutes to first stop, up to 1 hour occasionally; telehealth used when possible.

Salary range

  • $31 – $34 per hour. Compensation offered may vary based on job-related factors such as experience, skills, education and location.

OnCall transparency

  • On-call rotation every 3rd week; flexibility needed for home visits and hospital support.

What you’ll do

  • Conduct home visits to perform oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment setups and follow‑ups

  • Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance

  • Assess patient needs, document care delivered, and escalate concerns appropriately

  • Respond to hospital discharge requests and support patient needs

  • Collaborating with physicians, case managers, and internal branch teams

  • Maintain accurate documentation using iPad/laptop

  • Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment, including, but not limited to, oxygen therapy, nebulization therapy, apnea monitoring, suctioning, PAP, invasive and non-invasive ventilation

  • Inspects and tests equipment to ensure proper operating condition

  • Perform clinical assessments and tests such as pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry and gathering vital signs

  • Performs other duties as required

What we look for

  • Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist with an active IL RT license

  • Ability to stand, lift, push and/or pull objects ranging from 10 – 50 lbs.

  • Valid driver's license

  • Comfortable using mobile technology, navigation tools, and digital documentation

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program

Certificates, licenses, registrations or professional designations

  • Hold a current RCP license in the state of practice (or states that the location covers) if that state requires an RCP license to allow the practice of respiratory therapy

  • Hold a current CPR Certification

  • Hold all applicable licensure in good standing for all states of practice
