Job Description

Under the direction of the Director of Respiratory Care, The Clinical Education Supervisor is responsible for clinical guidance, and competence of the Respiratory Care (RC) staff. Actively participate in the day-to-day coordination of all Respiratory Care (RC) activities at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Train and direct RC staff to ensure the quality of services provided meet s CHH standard of care. Serve as a technical resource on current policy and best practice for respiratory staff and hospital personnel. Delivery of all respiratory care services to patients in all areas of the hospital. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • RRT Certification in Radiography required.
  • WV state license for Respiratory Care required.
  • ACLS Provider required, ACLS Instructor preferred.
  • PALS Provider required, PALS Instructor preferred.
  • Two years of position-related experience required.

The kind of position-related experience includes:

  • Good working knowledge of respiratory anatomy and physiology, pulmonary disease pathology, and medical terminology. Ability to skillfully operate all respiratory related patient support equipment is required. Adherence to established procedure protocols.
  • Working knowledge of all Respiratory Care treatments and modalities, application software and other information pertinent to placing orders and verifying appropriateness.
  • This individual must be mature, responsible, and use initiative for independent judgment when necessary. The incumbent is required to have a high standard of medical ethics and have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patient, employees, physicians, and the general public.
