Performs, plans, and coordinates the daily work activities of respiratory therapists in accordance with policies in compliance to all applicable regulatory and licensing boards.

  • Supervises, schedules, and coordinates daily activities and work assignments for the Respiratory Care department.
  • Assists with administrative activities and acts as clinical resource. Works collaboratively with other members of the health care team to provide appropriate patient therapy.
  • Ensures the proper set up, assembly, cleaning, and restocking of equipment and supplies.
  • Assists with inventory control of equipment carts.
  • Observes universal and/or specialized precautions in carrying out daily responsibilities.
  • Assists with development and implementation of formal training and orientation programs for staff.
  • Administers, interprets, and ensures compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Provides on-going informal performance feedback, addresses problems, orients and trains employees, verifies competency and identifies and suggests ways to develop skills.
  • Works collaboratively with other members of the health care team to determine the appropriateness of prescribed therapy and to establish achievable goals for the patient's identified pathophysiological state.
  • Serves as a clinical resource to medical staff and other health professionals concerning respiratory care.
  • Performs respiratory therapy services to patients, including oxygen therapy, Postural drainage and chest physiotherapy, aerosol therapy, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, airway management, ventilator management, Pulmonary Rehab., Holter monitoring, EKG Cardiac stress testing, and Pulmonary Function Study
  • Provides teaching and communicates instructions to patient and/or family for use and indication of R.T.
  • Delivers a variety of pharmaceutical agents needed for treatments.
  • Serves as a member of the CPR (code blue) team.
  • The Supervisor Respiratory Care reports to the Manager Respiratory Therapy.

  • Potential for exposure to hazardous risks, including potential for exposure to infections and communicable diseases, blood and body fluids, electrical equipment, chemicals.
  • Potential for bodily injury related to lifting and incidents of workplace violence.
  • Must follow universal safety precautions.
  • Potential for exposure to constant interruptions, noise, disagreeable odors, and assorted chemicals.
  • May have multiple floors assigned per shift.
  • May be required to be on call status.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

  • Graduate of a Registry Eligible Respiratory Therapy School

LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • RCP (Respiratory Care Practitioner)
  • RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) Issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association within 30 days of hire
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) Issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association within 30 days of hire
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal/written).
  • This job requires the incumbents to operate an INTEGRIS-owned vehicle OR personal vehicle (non-INTEGRIS-owned) and therefore must have a current Oklahoma State Driver's License as well as a driving record which is acceptable to our insurance carrier.
