Provides respiratory care in critical care, inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings. Work is performed in accordance with physician orders or protocols. Maintains accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides respiratory care according to Marshall’s standards of practice.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Licensure/Certification:

  • Graduate of a respiratory care program accredited by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).
  • Current California Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from The American Red Cross or American Heart Association required.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification from the American Academy of Pediatrics or the American Heart Association required.
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from The American Red Cross or American Heart Association required.
  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from The American Red Cross or American Heart Association required.
  • Must maintain current NBRC credentials.

Knowledge/Experience:

  • All aspects of respiratory care including emergency room and intensive care settings as well as labor and delivery and neonatal care.
  • Knowledge of human growth and development to modify care to age and development status.
