Work Schedule:
This is a full time position scheduled to work Monday through Friday during core business hours at University Hospital in Madison, WI. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department. This position requires administrator on call coverage for the department on some weekends and holidays.

In this role, you’ll partner with physicians and clinical leaders to advance programs, improve outcomes, and support continued growth across respiratory services. You’ll lead supervisors and frontline staff, foster a strong team culture, and play a key role in shaping the future of care delivery

We are seeking a Manager Respiratory Care to:

  • Lead daily operations of respiratory care services, including staffing, quality, and performance management
  • Drive program development, quality improvement initiatives, and operational efficiency
  • Partner with clinical and administrative leaders to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care delivery
  • Develop, mentor, and engage a high-performing team while supporting workforce growth and retention
  • Oversee budgeting, financial performance, and resource management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy, Health Care Administration or Business Administration Required
  • Master's Degree in Respiratory Therapy, Health Care Administration or Business Administration Preferred

Work Experience

  • 6 years relevant health care experience Required
  • 6 years relevant health care experience in an academic medical center Preferred

Licenses & Certifications

  • Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) in the State of Wisconsin Upon Hire Required
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Upon Hire Required
  • Current BLS/CPR certification
    Upon Hire Required
  • Current ACLS and/or PALS certification Preferred
  • National certification in relevant specialty (such as ACCS, NPS and/or RPFT) Preferred
