• Base salary range: Level 6, $99,040.00 – $104,669 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

The Directorate of Student Life and Community plays a vital role in delivering a world-class student experience at UWA. Within this Directorate, the Student Health and Wellbeing Division provides integrated services that promote student safety, health, wellbeing and academic success.

The Safe and Respectful Communities team leads initiatives that prevent and respond to gender-based violence and other harmful behaviours. Through education, early intervention, specialist support and collaborative partnerships, the team works to foster a safe, inclusive and respectful environment where all students can thrive.

About the opportunity

• Provide trauma-informed support, safety planning and referral coordination for students who have experienced harm, particularly gender-based violence and related behaviours.
• Deliver engaging education and training programs that build awareness, promote respectful relationships, strengthen bystander capability and contribute to a safer campus community.
• Contribute to the development, implementation and continuous improvement of prevention initiatives, service responses and reporting processes informed by emerging trends and evidence-based practice.

About you

• Relevant qualification in Social Work, Counselling, Psychology or a related discipline, together with current registration or membership with an appropriate professional body such as AASW, PACFA or ACA.
• Demonstrated experience supporting individuals impacted by gender-based violence, sexual harm, bullying, discrimination or other harmful behaviours using a trauma-informed approach.
• Strong capability in risk assessment, safety planning, crisis intervention and responding to complex wellbeing concerns.
• Experience designing or delivering training, workshops, education programs or community awareness initiatives for diverse audiences.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively, manage priorities and contribute to a high-performing team environment.

A current National Police Clearance, WA Working with Children Check will be required by the successful applicant.
