40The GI Resource nurse is responsible for the care of patients undergoing GI procedures.

The GI Resource nurse schedules procedures, instructs patient and families on the preparation for scheduled procedures, communicates procedure results to patients and families under the direction of the managing provider, and advises patients and families of the plan of care as recommended by the managing provider. Prepares, performs, and edit specific GI related tests/studies. The GI resource nurse must be able to function independently and possess strong decision making skills while providing care for patients from birth through young adulthood. The procedure nurse will serve as a liaison and/or resource to other staff in the ambulatory GI setting, as well as other ambulatory clinics and inpatient departments.

Education:

  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing required. Graduation from an accredited program of nursing

Certification/Licensure:

  • Registered Nursing license in State of Ohio
  • CPR Cardio-PulmonaryResuscitation - required
