Volunteers typically live independently in Pristina district or other urban centers with access to cafés, markets, and cultural events. Housing is modest and may experience occasional power outages or heating challenges in winter. Most Volunteers will live in an apartment, while others will live in small houses. The expected commute to the work site is 20–40 minutes by bus, taxi, bike or on foot.

Conduct a comprehensive assessment of funding streams, donor relations, and resource gaps.
Establish or refine a centralized donor database for tracking grants, reporting deadlines, and funding prospects.
Create standardized procedures and templates for proposal writing and donor communication.
Facilitate participatory training sessions for staff on donor research, proposal development, and impact reporting.
Identify and analyze new international, regional, and corporate funding opportunities aligned with strategic plans.
Collaborate with program teams to draft, edit, and package competitive grant proposals and concept notes.
Design a multi-channel fundraising initiative, such as crowdfunding, corporate partnerships, or individual giving programs.
You may also work on additional projects that meet the community’s interests and priorities, such as facilitating adult English conversation clubs or organizing community volunteer events.
After a two-week orientation on topics such as language, culture, health, and safety, you will move to an urban community where you will collaborate with NGOs or a university to assess the needed resources and develop a work plan in line with established goals.
Peace Corps/Kosovo will equip you with Albanian language resources and you may work with a tutor who can help you build basic language skills to connect with the community.
Only heterosexual couples can be accepted for this program.
Cohabitating couples are highly encouraged to present themselves as married throughout service due to cultural expectations.
Couples will live together during training but may separate occasionally for field-based activities.
Each person must apply separately and qualify for a position in a different sector than their partner.
