We are seeking a dedicated and versatile Resource Cook to join our team at The Goddard School in Cordova. In this dual-impact role, you will play a crucial part in the well-being of our students by preparing nutritious, balanced meals and snacks. Beyond the kitchen, you will serve as a vital member of our Resource team, providing classroom support through teacher breaks and assisting with front office operations once your culinary duties are complete. This part-time position is a wonderful opportunity for a dependable professional to contribute to the growth and development of young children within a supportive and nurturing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook meals and snacks according to the menu and nutritional guidelines provided by the school.
• Ensure all meals are nutritious, balanced, and appealing to young children.
• Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
• Monitor food supplies and ingredients, and order as needed to maintain inventory levels.
• Collaborate with the school director and teachers to accommodate special dietary needs or preferences of children.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area, including proper storage and labeling of food items.
• Follow all procedures and policies set forth by the Goddard School and regulatory authorities.
• Provide support to teaching teams during transitions or high-activity periods.
• Step in to provide coverage for teacher breaks and planning periods as kitchen scheduling allows.
• Help with front office operations and general school maintenance to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in food preparation, preferably in a childcare or educational setting.
• Knowledge of nutrition and food safety guidelines.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with children, parents, and staff members.
• High school diploma or equivalent; culinary certification or training is a plus.

Compensation: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
