Job Description

With properties in some of Australia’s most iconic locations, NRMA Parks & Resorts provide accommodation that suits every budget, style, and occasion – from campsites to luxury resorts. We connect holidaymakers with over 50 incredible destinations to create unforgettable holiday experiences.

Part of the trusted NRMA Group, a member-owned brand, our passionate team works together to make holiday magic happen—it's not just our job, it's in our nature.

Are you a hands‑on hospitality leader with strong operational capability and a particular strength in grounds and maintenance operations? Join the leadership team at Darlington Beach Holiday Park, supporting the General Manager in the smooth, safe and efficient day‑to‑day operation of this much‑loved coastal destination. To complement the existing team, this role is especially well suited to someone who brings confidence and experience overseeing grounds, maintenance or trades‑based teams, alongside proven people leadership capability.

What you will do:

You’ll work closely with department heads, step in operationally where needed and be confident to manage the Resort during the GM's days off or leave. This is a hands‑on, operational role, with broad exposure across all departments, ideal for someone who enjoys variety, problem‑solving and being visible on the ground.

You will be:

  • Supporting the General Manager in the overall operation and performance of the resort
  • Providing day‑to‑day oversight across all departments
  • Leading daily operational rhythms, including HOD check‑ins and cross‑department coordination
  • Jumping in operationally as needed to support teams during peak periods or absences
  • Assisting with wage forecasting, rostering and cost control to ensure budgets are met
  • Supporting recruitment, onboarding and on‑the‑job training across departments
  • Acting as the GM’s delegate during days off or periods of leave
  • Liaising with the GM on maintenance issues, repairs, contractor management and improvement projects
  • Promoting a strong safety culture for guests, team members and contractors
  • Monitor and maintain a high standard of safety of all guests, visitors and employees

What you will bring:

  • Previous leadership experience is essential, ideally within tourism, hospitality, accommodation or a similar operational environment
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing grounds, maintenance, trades or asset‑focused teams (or working closely with them)
  • Experience as an Assistant Manager, Operations Manager, Head of Department or similar role
  • Strong people leadership skills, with the ability to lead by example and remain visible on the ground
  • Confidence working with employment awards, rosters and wage management
  • A practical, solutions‑focused mindset and the ability to adapt in a fast‑paced, 7‑day operation
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage team members, guests and stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience in food & beverage or events is beneficial, but not essential
