Residential Support Worker
Salary: £27,000.00 per annum (pro-rata)
Location: Aylesbury, Bucks.
Contract/Hours: Permanent - Part Time 15 or 30 hours a week - shifts are set between 7am – 3pm or 2pm – 9pm and on a 4 weekly rota basis.

Our Residential Support Workers create a safe and supportive environment for children and young people to grow and develop. You will ensure their wellbeing is prioritised by delivering personalised care, guidance, and advocacy. It is key that they stay safe and healthy and can reach their full potential.

About the service
The Grove is a residential Short Breaks home in Aylesbury that supports young people to achieve their potential, have fun and make friends within a safe supportive environment. We provide residential short breaks supporting young people with learning disabilities and complex health needs.
As a Residential Worker, you will be responsible for supporting young people aged 8-18, throughout their stay in The Grove short breaks home.
Your role will entail safeguarding young people, enabling them to reach their full potential, supporting with all their needs. You will be part of a fun, supportive and hardworking team that works as part of a rota working a variety of early, late and weekend shifts.
In this role you can bring their experience, can-do attitude and passion with you and help maintain the high standards already set by our wonderful team!
How you'll help to create brighter futures
Provide lead case/care planning management, including assessing, reviewing and managing risk.
Co-ordinating responsibilities within the service, with multi agency and producing family information, including analysis and written reports.
Attendance at professional meetings including reviews, court work etc.
Being resilient in supporting the young people through challenging situations.
Let's talk about you, ideally you will have:
Demonstrable experience of working in a care setting and developing positive relationships through trust.
Experience of leading a team.
Application of a range of techniques to co-ordinate and communicate with service users and their families.
Demonstrate a solution focused approach to address problems, individually and in a team setting.
Demonstrate emotional resilience to respond to the challenging nature of the role.
Possess a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or recognised equivalent) or if you do not possess this you must be prepared to complete this within 2 years.
