About the Service
Ty Laura is a vibrant, nurturing respite service supporting children and young people with additional learning and health needs.
We provide overnight stays for up to four young people, offering families meaningful respite while creating positive experiences that benefit the whole community.
Ty Laura is a “bustling hive of activity” where every day is different and every achievement matters, from shared celebrations to milestones like a young person proudly tying their shoelaces for the first time.
With five uniquely designed bedrooms and a warm, home‑from‑home environment, Ty Laura helps young people feel safe, settled, and supported to grow in confidence.
About the role
This Residential Support Worker role is the perfect entry point into Social Care, requiring no previous experience just a positive attitude and a genuine desire to support children and young people.
You’ll help create a safe, nurturing environment where wellbeing, growth and independence are prioritised, offering personalised care, guidance and advocacy.
Every shift brings opportunities to learn, reflect and develop, supported by a strong team, with regular supervision and a thorough induction.
Staff are encouraged to bring their own interests and talents into the home, enriching the experiences we offer young people.
Team members with creative flair often lead monthly themed arts and crafts sessions, while those with musical skills support young people to explore instruments like the keyboard.
How you'll help to create brighter futures
You’ll be engaging in enjoyable activities both within the project and within the community. You’ll be assuming responsibility for the personal care and daily routines of the young individuals, providing support with personal hygiene, communication, administering of medication and ensuring the safeguarding of our young people by accurate recording and reporting.
Let's talk about you
People who enjoy a lively, hands‑on role filled with activities, community involvement and meaningful support will thrive at Ty Laura. If you’re passionate about creating brighter futures, this could be the perfect role for you.
Ideally you’ll:
Understand how to engage with young people.
Have a positive approach and ‘can do’ attitude.
Ability to work on your own or as part of a team.
Be ready to complete a level 3 in Health and Social Care within 2 years of commencing employment with us, fully funded by us.
