Job Location Preble Street - PORTLAND, ME 04101

Preble Street’s permanent supported housing programs consist of individual apartments and 24-hour onsite, supportive services for 30 adults who have experienced chronic homelessness. With a low-barrier approach and based on the principles that everyone deserves housing and the support necessary to maintain it, Residential Services provides permanent housing alongside onsite services to support tenants in achieving and maintaining housing stability.

Preble Street has As-Needed Staff openings in our Residential Services Programs. As-Needed Staff will be responsible for providing program coverage, maintaining tenant safety, monitoring the security of the building, providing crisis intervention and support, and assisting clients and tenants in overcoming barriers to stable housing.

Schedule: As-Needed, up to 28 hours per week.



Qualifications

Position requirements include a positive regard for clients accessing services for homelessness and poverty; the ability to engage with and maintain boundaries with a diverse population; strong communication skills; the ability to work as part of a team; and reliability.

Availability to work evening and overnight hours is strongly preferred. Staff are required to remain awake for the duration of shifts and to have reliable attendance for scheduled shifts.

Compensation & Benefits

The starting hourly rate of pay for As Needed Staff is $20.99/hour and is eligible for shift differentials of $1.00 per hour for all hours actually worked between the hours of 7:00am and 10:00pm or $2.00 per hour for all hours actually worked between the hours of 10:00 pm and 7:00 am.

As Needed Staff may work up to 28 hours per week, have flexible schedules, and earn PTO based on hours worked
