Examples of duties

This position focuses on assisting residential staff with providing treatment, training, and daily supports to individuals at Selinsgrove Center. The role emphasizes teamwork, communication, and consistent delivery of services that follow each individual's plan. As a Residential Services Aide, you will perform the following duties:

  • Plan Development: Assist with completing portions of assessments and training plans to support individual needs
  • Active Treatment: Carry out assigned training plans and procedures to help individuals build daily living skills
  • Progress Monitoring: Record and report information to support updates to each individual's treatment plan
  • Team Interaction: Share observations and communicate skill strengths and need areas with interdisciplinary team members
  • Environmental Support: Help enhance living areas through selection, placement, and upkeep of personal items and equipment
  • Role Modeling: Promote dignity, privacy, and rights while following all policies and procedures

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are available on the following shifts, with rotating break days and every 3rd weekend off:
    • 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM (1st shift), with a 30-minute lunch
    • 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM (2nd shift), with a 30-minute lunch
  • Overtime and travel as operationally necessary
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $43,376.00 (before taxes).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Successful completion of the Aide Trainee program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) ; or
  • Six months of paid experience in the care, activities, and personal guidance of individuals with intellectual disabilities.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
