Examples of duties

This position supports treatment, training, and daily living activities that help individuals develop important skills and reach personal goals. As a Residential Services Aide, you will perform the following duties:

  • Plan Support: Assist with completing assessments and training plans to provide accurate information on individual strengths, likes, and needs
  • Training Support: Help implement Individual Habilitation Plan/Individual Support Plans (IHP/ISP) and conduct assigned training activities to support skill development
  • Progress Monitoring: Record and report information to help revise plans and improve services
  • Team Participation: Work with interdisciplinary team members to share insights and strengthen treatment efforts
  • Record Keeping: Document information in individual unit records to support communication across the team
  • Environment Support: Help enhance living areas by assisting with selecting, placing, and monitoring personal items that will maximize the therapeutic environment

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 1st shift (6:00 AM to 2:30 PM) and 2nd shift (2:00 PM to 10:30 PM), with a 30-minute lunch. You will have rotating break days and every 3rd weekend off.
  • Overtime and travel as needed
  • Free parking
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $43,376.00 (before taxes).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Successful completion of the Aide Trainee program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Six months of paid experience in the care, activities, and personal guidance of individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and a drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
