The Opportunity
We are seeking a Peace Officer to support the safety, structure, and daily operations of our residential behavioral health treatment program. In this role, you will maintain a secure and therapeutic environment by conducting facility monitoring, enforcing program expectations, and responding to behavioral and safety concerns using approved crisis intervention techniques. You will support individuals served through supervision, structured engagement, and assistance with daily needs while ensuring a safe, orderly, and recovery-focused environment.
This position plays a critical role in maintaining the physical safety of the facility while supporting a structured and therapeutic residential setting.
Essential Functions
- Maintains safety and security of the residential facility through continuous observation, routine rounds, and scheduled checks of all program areas, ensuring timely identification and response to safety risks, contraband, and environmental concerns involving clients.
- Enforces facility rules, structure, and behavioral expectations to maintain a safe, orderly, and therapeutic environment for all individuals served within the residential program.
- Responds to client incidents, behavioral escalations, and emergency situations using approved crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques, including initiation of emergency response procedures when required.
- Conducts client accountability procedures, including headcounts, supervision of movement within the facility, and monitoring of entry and exit points to ensure continuous supervision and accurate tracking of all individuals served.
- Monitors and documents client activity, behavior, and safety concerns at scheduled intervals across all areas of the facility, including common areas, bedrooms, restrooms, dining areas, offices, and outdoor spaces.
- Supports program structure and engagement by reinforcing expectations, encouraging participation in scheduled activities, and promoting a safe and respectful environment for recovery.
- Assists with basic residential support functions, including warming and serving meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and medical restrictions, as well as assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed.
- Maintains accurate and timely documentation of incidents, observations, and safety concerns in accordance with agency policies and reporting standards.
- Maintains cleanliness and environmental safety of the facility by assisting with sanitation tasks such as trash removal, cleaning high-touch surfaces, laundry, dishwashing, and addressing spills or hazards.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by Human Resources and/or the direct supervisor or designee, consistent with maintaining a safe, structured, and therapeutic residential environment.

Education & Credentials:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associate degree in Human Services or related field preferred
Additional Requirements:
- Valid and unrestricted driver’s license required
Physical Demands
- Requires the ability to stand, walk, and conduct regular facility rounds for extended periods, as well as respond quickly to incidents or emergencies across all residential areas.
- Must be able to safely assist in the physical management of clients during approved crisis intervention or de-escalation situations in accordance with training and agency policy.
- Requires the ability to bend, stoop, lift up to 25–50 pounds, climb stairs, and maintain continuous visual and auditory awareness to ensure client and facility safety.
