Job Description

Summary

Assist in the construction, repair, and maintenance of all properties as needed. Job duties include but are not limited to rough and finish carpentry, minor plumbing/electrical, drywall & plaster repair, painting, irrigation repair, trenching and cleanup

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Miscellaneous carpentry tasks from rough to finish trim work- including door, window and cabinet adjustment and repair.
  • Work with materials such as wood, plastic, drywall, insulation, stucco, concrete, etc.
  • Proper use of pneumatic, electric and hand tools to complete project with the highest quality and efficiency
  • Proper use of fasteners and or adhesives to join various materials.
  • Use levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares and surveying equipment to ensure everything is level and secure.
  • Ability to erect safe scaffolding, shoring, temporary construction structures.
  • Basic water intrusion remediation skills- dismantle, dehumidify/aerate, repair and replace.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with Homeowner, Real Estate Project Manager, Estate Manager, and other employees.
  • Maintain acute awareness of job site safety and require safe work practices. Identify and immediately rectify job site hazards and potential hazards.
  • Install and patch drywall and plaster.
  • Perform minor demolition of structure, concrete, asphalt with jackhammers, breakers etc.
  • Maintain a clean, uncluttered construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
  • Control traffic passing near, in and around work zones.
  • Trenching and minor excavations using picks, shovels, rakes- properly compacting backfill level to grade/density specifications.
  • Interior and exterior painting, utilizing the proper brushes, rollers, and caulking.
  • Assist all subcontractors such as carpenters, plasterers, painters, masons etc., with particular attention dust containment and scheduling disturbing tasks conscientiously!
  • Mix ingredients to create compounds for covering or cleaning surfaces.

This is an internal and external client facing position that requires excellent customer service skills and interpersonal communication skills (listening/verbal/written).   • Must have two years residential construction experience.
  • Must be comfortable, and able to work on roofs, ladders, scaffolding, elevated structures, as well as navigating confined spaces such as attics and crawl spaces.

Work Location

This position works on-site at the San Diego Headquarters or other company location (or from a remote location with management approval based on business requirements). Must provide adequate support to internal clients; be available for regular interactions and coordination of work with other employees, colleagues, clients, or vendors; as well as be available to facilitate effective decisions through collaboration with stakeholders.

Working Hours

This is a full-time non-exempt position requiring one to be able to work overtime from time to time in order to get the job done. Therefore, one must have the ability to work nights, weekends or on holidays as required. This may be changed at any time to meet the needs of the business. The typical working hours for this position are Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Travel

This position requires domestic travel of up to 10% of the time.
