Residential Group Home Supervisor (DSP Background)

  • Status: Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, one late shift (10:00 am – 6:00 pm) each week *on-call responsibilities
    • Must be available for on call and live within reasonable proximity to the home
  • Locations Available: Harrisburg, Camp Hill, and Mechanicsburg, PA
  • Pay: $23.00 per hour, up to $24.00 per hour with NADSP Frontline Supervisor certification

What We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum of 1 year of previous Direct Support Professional (DSP) or job-related experience expected; 2+ years preferred.
  • Knowledge of applicable compliance regulations (i.e., Chapter 51, 2380, 6400)
  • Previous supervisory experience strongly preferred
  • A valid driver’s license and 6 months driving experience
  • Access to a vehicle with valid insurance, registration, and inspection
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate
  • A team player who can be flexible with their schedule
  • Ability to communicate, read, write, and understand the English language

As a Residential Group Home Supervisor, you’ll support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in living safe, fulfilling, and independent lives. You’ll ensure individuals receive consistent, person-centered care while leading Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the home to create a stable, meaningful living environment.

What You’ll Do:­

  • Build strong, respectful relationships with the individuals you support and coach staff on how to do the same.
  • Lead and support Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to ensure daily supports help individuals grow skills, build confidence, and gain independence.
  • Oversee daily program operations to make sure goals, outcomes, and quality standards are met.
  • Coordinate and supervise medical care, including scheduling appointments, arranging transportation, and ensuring staff follow all medical recommendations.
  • Ensure the home is safe, clean, and compliant, guiding staff on safety expectations, monitoring maintenance needs, and submitting repair requests when needed.
  • Create and monitor individualized goal plans, working with staff to teach life skills and adjusting plans as individuals’ needs change.
  • Partner with individuals, staff, families, and outside providers to ensure consistent, person-centered care.
  • Model Servant Leadership, supporting staff, solving problems, and creating a positive, respectful team environment.
  • Support, engage, and motivate staff, using coaching and leadership strategies to strengthen teamwork and improve both employee and individual satisfaction.
