Roles and Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost plans and build estimates for Queensland residential construction projects.
• Measure and quantify materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor requirements based on project drawings and specifications.
• Develop accurate project budgets and cost forecasts.
• Prepare quantity takeoffs, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and procurement-ready documentation.
• Create and manage tender submissions using Cubit Select.
• Prepare subcontractor trade packages, including marked-up drawings, scopes of work, and BOQs.
• Conduct trade comparisons and evaluate subcontractor quotations.
• Source and engage subcontractors for tender opportunities.
• Track project costs, contracts, purchase orders, and budget performance using Buildertrend.
• Compile and assess client variations and subcontractor variations.
• Review subcontractor invoices and progress claims.
• Identify design conflicts, discrepancies, and constructability issues during plan reviews.
• Prepare cost reports and financial summaries for management.
• Collaborate with project teams, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Experience

• 2–5 years of estimating or cost planning experience within the construction industry.
• Experience supporting Australian residential construction projects, particularly Queensland (QLD) residential builds.
• Experience preparing cost plans, build estimates, quantity takeoffs, and tender submissions.
• Experience reviewing subcontractor quotations, trade comparisons, and procurement documentation.
• Experience managing project variations, budgets, and cost tracking.

Minimum Qualifications

• Degree, Diploma, or equivalent experience in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of residential construction methodologies, estimating principles, and cost planning processes.
• Candidate Must Have
• Experience supporting Queensland residential construction projects.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Approachable personality with the ability to build strong working relationships.
• Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Proficient With

• Cubit (Mandatory)
• Bluebeam Revu or similar markup software (Critical)
• Cubit Select (Preferred)
• Buildertrend (Preferred)
• Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite

Experience Advantage

• Experience working on custom residential homes, renovations, extensions, or residential developments within Queensland.
• Experience with civil works projects.
• Experience using procurement-ready takeoff methodologies and BOQ preparation.
• Experience working remotely with Australian construction companies.

Work Schedule

• Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM (PHT)
