Provide direct support and supervision to clients/patients and Behavioral Health Technicians; orient clients to program expectations and staff to operational procedures; monitor safety, document progress, and assist the Clinical Team with treatment procedures and care coordination.

Key Responsibilities:
· Supervise and support clients/patients during daily activities to promote a safe, therapeutic environment and model appropriate behavior.
· Orient clients to program expectations, rights, and rules; communicate pertinent behaviors and progress to the treatment team.
· Lead, train, and supervise Behavioral Health Technicians; assist with hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and coverage for vacant shifts.
· Provide direct client care duties (perform Behavioral Health Technician responsibilities) including group facilitation, education, recreational activities, and transportation as needed.
· Assist Clinical Team with screening, monitoring (including detox clients where applicable), assessment support, treatment planning assistance, and case coordination under supervision.
· Facilitate behavioral interventions and crisis de-escalation; ensure unusual incidents are collected and reported per policy.
· Ensure timely, accurate documentation of client activities, groups, and progress in accordance with State Regulatory/CARF standards; complete mandated trainings within required timeframes.
· Prepare or assist in preparation of group curricula and educational materials; participate in staff meetings and facilitate BHT meetings as scheduled.
· Complete annual evaluations for direct reports and provide regular documented supervision.
· Demonstrate commitment to program goals and perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, psychiatric nursing, or closely related field; OR
· High School diploma or GED AND at least two (2) years responsible employment history.
· At least one (1) year supervisory responsibility preferred.
· Illinois second shift incumbents: three (3) years of experience required. (Omit if not applicable)
Additional Qualifications:
· Knowledge of confidentiality laws governing substance use disorder and mental health treatment (HIPAA 42 CFR Part II).
· Demonstrated verbal de-escalation skills and ability to establish rapport with client population.
· Strong multitasking, prioritization, leadership, and written/verbal communication skills.
· Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and auto insurance.
· Successful completion of background checks (criminal, driving record, abuse/neglect, fingerprint).
· Completion of required new hire orientation and mandatory trainings (e.g., Relias) within designated timeframes.
Physical Requirements
· Sedentary work: may exert up to 10 pounds occasionally; frequent repetitive movements of hands, fingers, and arms for typing/writing.
· Primarily sitting with occasional walking or standing; lifting and mobility requirements are minimal.
