Do you want a role where your values truly matter, and where the relationships you build can change lives?

This could be your moment.

We are looking for committed and compassionate individuals to join our Residential Childcare and Housing Support Service, supporting some of the most vulnerable young people in Fife. Many of the young people we support have experienced significant childhood adversity and may, at times, experience high levels of distress. We are seeking people who can provide stability, warmth, and consistency during both the good days and the challenging ones.

Why Work With Us

  • We offer shift work that may fit your life, your family, and other commitments, providing a supportive and professional team environment. In return, we offer meaningful work where no two days are the same, and where your contribution makes a genuine difference.

  • You will play a key role in creating a safe, nurturing and trauma responsive environment - a secure base where children and young people can feel cared for, develop trusting relationships, and begin to flourish.

  • As a Residential Childcare Worker, you will provide highquality care and support to children and young people within a residential setting, ensuring their physical, emotional and psychological needs are met. You will work alongside colleagues to deliver consistent, relationshipbased care that supports recovery, growth, and positive outcomes.

  • Local and national discounts including supermarkets, restaurants and retail!

  • Enhancements for unsocial hours, including weekends and public holidays.

  • Pay- is every 4 weeks.

  • Training - Access to and support with training opportunities and qualifications for the job.

  • Pension - Membership of Fife Pension Fund which is part of the Scottish Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS Scotland).

  • Generous holiday allowance.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing safe, nurturing and childcentred care within a residential home

  • Supporting the development, implementation, and review of individual care plans

  • Promoting a positive, inclusive and stable living environment

  • Supporting children and young people with daily routines, including education, health, personal care, and emotional wellbeing

  • Participating in and organising leisure, recreational, and community activities

  • Undertaking practical domestic tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and maintaining the home to promote a homely environment

  • Maintaining accurate, clear, and timely records and documentation

  • Working collaboratively with colleagues, families, and partner agencies to meet children’s needs

  • Upholding safeguarding procedures and ensuring the welfare and protection of all children

  • Supporting and upholding the principles of The Promise Scotland, ensuring children feel loved, listened to and respected

Our Values:

Our service is underpinned by the values of Ambition, Belonging, Respect and Love. You will be expected to demonstrate these values in your everyday practice:

  • Ambition – Encouraging young people to believe in themselves and supporting their aspirations

  • Belonging – Helping children feel safe, accepted and part of a nurturing home

  • Respect – Valuing each young person’s voice, identity, and life experience

  • Love – Providing warmth, compassion and care within professional boundaries

The Person

We are looking for individuals who:

  • Have experience of working with young people who have experienced Adverse Childhood Experiences, or who have a strong interest in this area

  • Understand attachment theory and traumaresponsive care

  • Can see beyond presenting behaviours and respond with empathy, patience and hope

  • Understand that this is a demanding role and can maintain composure, resilience, and professionalism during challenging situations

  • Can organise and participate in activities that support development and wellbeing

  • Hold an HNC in Social Care and SVQ Level 3 or are willing to work towards these qualifications

  • Are willing to register with the SSSC within 3 months of their start date

  • Hold a full driving licence (desirable).

  • The successful applicant will be expected to uphold professional standards as outlined by the SSSC and the Care Inspectorate, work within policies and procedures, and demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding and child protection.

  • Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.

  • As this role requires SSSC registration, you will have three months to apply for registration.

  • If appointed, you must start your application as soon as possible, so you're registered within the required six months.

  • If you need to achieve a qualification to maintain your SSSC membership, information will be provided if you are appointed. You must ensure you complete the qualification within the specified timeframe.
