Reporting to the Area Manager,theResidential Care Services Managerleadsthe day-to-dayoperational managementand drivesthe overall performance,cultureand reputation ofour residentialaged carehomeat GympieSt Vincent’s Care Services Gympie provides residents with exceptional care with the added benefit of beautifully landscaped gardens, extensive verandas, and sweeping views of Gympie and the Cooloola Shire countryside.

This is a Permanent Part-time role. Working days - Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

About The Role

  • Overseeall performance indicators, including financial budgets,workforce,resident & staffsafety,minimum care minutesand occupancy, with accountability for business development and sustainable growth

  • Cultivate a stable and engaged workforce, strong compliance outcomes, positive residentfamilyfeedbackand a service that issustainableand continuously improving.

  • Demonstratestrong, values-led leadership, modelling expected behaviours and fostering a culture of accountability, respect,opennessand continuous improvement.

  • Cultivate a high-performing and engaged workforce where people feel supported&developedandperformance expectations are clear&consistent

  • Proactive management of incidents,complaintsand feedback, with transparency, open disclosure and learning used to strengthen care quality and service delivery.

  • Foster a safe,compliantand well-governed service, with clinical governance frameworks embedded, risks actively managed and continuous readiness for accreditation and regulatory review

  • Senior leadership experience within residential aged care,healthor a similarly regulated environment.

  • A leaderpossessingwarmth,compassionand exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability tobuild trustand relationshipwithkeystakeholders.

  • Proven capability to lead and manage a complex service, both commercially and operationally,with full accountability for care quality, workforce,governanceand financial performance.

  • Strong understanding ofall statutory and regulatory requirements includingaged care legislation, clinical governance, accreditationstandards,qualitysystemsand complaints & critical incident management.

  • Demonstrated ability to build & sustain a positive workplace culture, with experience leading and developing multidisciplinary teams, including workforce planning, recruitment,retentionand performance management.

  • A proactive, improvement-focused mindset, with the ability to innovate, adapt and lead change in a challenging operating environment.

  • Alignment with, and commitment to, the mission,valuesand legacy of St Vincent’s Health Australia.

  • AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (or related discipline) desirablewith evidence of ongoing professional developmenthighly regarded

  • Successful completion and maintenance of Responsible Person screening checks. This position is considered a ‘Responsible Person’ role, being accountable for day-to-day operations, and having authority, decision-making, influence & responsibility for planning and directing activities within our organisation.

About The Royal Children's Hospital

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.

When it comes to training and research we partner with the very best. Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville. Together, we are committed to improving the health outcomes for children today and in the future.

In 2016–17, more than 85,654 children attended our Emergency Department, 322,291 specialist clinic appointments were held which was almost 70,000 more than the previous year, more than 17,000 surgeries were performed and more than 48,552 children were admitted to our wards.
