Position: Residential Assistant Manager

The Residential Assistant Manager, in collaboration with the Residence Manager, plays a crucial role in ensuring that the Residence(s) under their supervision operate at maximum efficiency while maintaining regulatory compliance and providing a high quality of life for all residents and staff.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

The following duties are essential to the role. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

  • Develop and implement all aspects of quality programming within the residence.
  • Supervise and evaluate Direct Support Professionals, fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment.
  • Assist in maintaining the residence's operating budget.
  • Monitor service plans for all individuals in the residence and ensure timely submission of paperwork.
  • Coordinate and follow through on desired services with various providers such as medical, psychological, educational, and work-related.
  • Help create and maintain an effective team within the residence.
  • Ensure compliance with dietary and housekeeping needs, including purchasing, maintenance, and bookkeeping, as per regulatory and policy requirements.
  • Collaborate with central agency departments such as Finance, Human Resources, Corporate Compliance, and Medical.
  • Ensure compliance with all State and Agency regulations related to medication storage and administration. The Residence Manager must be able to pass the AMAP certification course.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervise the Direct Support Professionals, RN or LPN (if applicable), and any other Clinician assigned to the Residence.



Qualifications



Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in English is required to perform essential job functions, including preparing written reports, understanding safety instructions, and communicating with individuals we serve and your team members.
  • Associate's degree Preferred (preferably in Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, Special Education, or another health-related field)
  • One (1) year of experience in the OPWDD field
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License
  • Must maintain certifications in Strategies in Crisis Intervention and Prevention - Revised (SCIP-R), Approved Medication Administration Personnel (AMAP), and CPR

Established in 1962, Block Institute has extensive experience providing individualized services for children and adults with developmental disabilities.
