Residential RN, Nurse Manager – Lead with Compassion and Purpose
Are you a dynamic RN leader with a passion for trauma-informed, culturally responsive care? Home of the Innocents is seeking a Residential RN, Nurse Manager to oversee and support our Residential Treatment and Emergency Shelter nursing team. In this vital role, you’ll guide and mentor staff, ensure top-tier clinical practices, and contribute directly to the health and well-being of youth with complex emotional and behavioral needs in our Residential program.
A Day in the Life
The Residential RN, Nurse Manager provides direct oversight and clinical leadership to the nursing team within the Residential program. Collaborating closely with interdisciplinary treatment teams and medical providers, you’ll promote excellence in care delivery, support the health learning of our adolescents, monitor resident outcomes, and maintain compliance with state, federal, and agency standards. Your work ensures each resident receives compassionate, high-quality, and person-centered care.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, with flexibility to meet the needs of the division to include earlier or later hours, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
How This Position Contributes to Our Mission
• Lead and support LPNs and residential nursing staff
• Manage daily operations, set goals, and drive care quality
• Promote trauma-informed, family-centered care through coaching and engagement
• Coordinate with providers to optimize resident health and care plans
• Provide direct nursing care and respond to emergencies as needed
• Educate staff and residents on wellness, safety, and medication practices
• Ensure regulatory compliance and accurate documentation
• Participate in quality, safety, and infection control initiatives
• Rotate on-call responsibilities for the department
• Champion a values-driven, inclusive care environment
Skills and Qualifications
• Required: Associate’s Degree in Nursing; unencumbered RN license in Kentucky
• Preferred: Psych or residential nursing experience; leadership experience
• Minimum: Two years of RN experience
• Current CPR/BLS certification (provided if needed)
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with trauma-informed practices and EHR systems
• Ability to lead with compassion in high-pressure situations
