Title Residential Accounts Receivable Clerk
Location: Stamford, CT ( In office)

of the Residential AR Clerk:
Building and Land Technology (BLT) is seeking a Residential Accounts Receivable Clerk to support the day-to-day accounts receivable operations for a portfolio of residential properties. This role is responsible for rent collections, cash application, bank reconciliations, tenant account reviews, deposit processing, and accounts receivable administration within AppFolio property management software.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring resident payments are accurately processed and applied, tenant ledgers are maintained, and account balances are reconciled. This position is ideal for an organized and detail-oriented professional interested in developing a career in property accounting, accounts receivable, or property management finance.

Responsibilities:

  • Process and post resident rent payments, security deposits, and other tenant receipts.
  • Review tenant ledgers to ensure accurate account balances.
  • Allocate and apply payments to resident accounts within AppFolio.
  • Prepare and perform monthly bank reconciliations for assigned accounts.
  • Research and resolve payment discrepancies, unapplied cash, and tenant account issues.
  • Process, sort, scan, and deposit a high volume of incoming checks and payments.
  • Manage approximately 300-600 checks per month, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical records of payments and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with collection activities by identifying delinquent accounts and coordinating with property management teams.
  • Review daily cash activity and verify accurate posting of receipts.
  • Support month-end closing activities related to accounts receivable and cash management.
  • Prepare reports and documentation as requested by management.
  • Perform administrative and accounting support functions as needed.


Qualifications:

  • 0-3 years of accounts receivable, accounting, bookkeeping, banking, finance, property management, or related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred but not required.
  • Experience with AppFolio or other property management/accounting software is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to manage repetitive, process-driven work while maintaining a high level of quality.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and follow established procedures.
