QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
- Enrollment in final year of a state-approved teacher preparation program
- Approval from partnering university to participate in full-year residency placement
- Availability to commit to a full school year of in-person classroom residency
Preferred
- Previous related experience

In partnership with experienced mentor teachers, the Resident Teacher will develop skills and knowledge necessary to become a highly effective educator. Through immersive, year-long classroom experience and ongoing coaching, the Resident Teacher will support student learning while contributing to a climate and culture that honors each learner’s identity and potential. The Resident Teacher will gradually assume more responsibility throughout the year while upholding the district’s values of collaboration, equity, and educational excellence.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Instructional Planning and Preparation
- Demonstrate knowledge of content and pedagogy
- Demonstrate knowledge of students
- Select instructional goals
- Demonstrate knowledge of resources
- Design coherent instruction
- Assess student learning
- Collaborate with mentor teacher to co-teach, co-plan, and co-assess
