Since 1973, Jubilee has worked to provide high quality affordable housing and holistic support to those experiencing persistent economic hardship in the Adams Morgan, Columbia Heights, and Mount Pleasant neighborhoods of Washington D.C. Jubilee operates more than a dozen properties totaling more than 500 homes and has an active development pipeline of several hundred new affordable housing units in progress, including a integration of a first in kind aquaponics farm. Jubilee also offers robust programming for residents and community members as they pursue life goals.

Under direction of the Director of Resident Services, the Resident Services coordinatoris responsible forplanning, coordinating,facilitatingand implementing individualized support,onsite programs,workshopsand activities thatservea diverse community of residents that call Jubilee Housing home.

Specific Duties

  • Maintain regular contact with residents as assigned based on individual or household needs
  • Work with residents to set goals, develop plans, makereferralsand needed connections to community providers and resources, along withfollow-throughto ensure successful connections.
  • Provide professionalindividualservice coordinationand crisis intervention for residents in need
  • Work collaboratively with onsite teams(such as Property Management and Youth Services)andonsiteproviders(such as Ounce of Care, Martha’s Table, Jubilee Jumpstart)inwraparoundservice delivery needs for residents
  • Maintainaccurate,timely, and detailed documentation of work with residents as well as attendanceatevents
  • Provide support during drop-in,andwalk-in hours offered to residents
  • Participate in outreach to residents with mailings, flyers, door-to-door, postings in all Jubilee buildings,etc.
  • Support resident engagement program planning and delivery
  • Lead group events and workshops for residents

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work,Psychology,Human Services, or related fieldpreferred, (at least 3 yearsofdirect service coordinatorexperiencein an affordable housing settingmay substitutefor education).
  • At least 1 year of Human Services related experience working with individuals directly in a community-based setting or organizationrequired
  • Ability toworka flexible work schedule for events that may occur during evening or weekend hours,in order toenhance resident access to events. Typical daily schedule will be 9am-5pm on weekdays
  • Bilingual SpanishEnglisha plus
  • Experience with resource navigation and individual service plans preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Work effectively both independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to support the organization’s mission and philosophy, anddemonstratesensitivity to cultural diversity and organizational harmony
  • Must be proficient in computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, MicrosoftOffice applications, calendar, and email and/or database software necessary to perform work assignments
  • Work may take place in residents’ homes and in community spaces with a range of environmental conditions. This can include households where challenging conditions arepresent,andwhichare familiarforaffordable housing contexts.  Appropriate safety protocols and training will be provided. Candidates should be able to professionally perform all duties in such settings.
  • Strong documentation skills, decision making,customer service, conflict resolution skills, peoplemanagementand integrity
  • Experience with partner development and volunteer recruitment
  • Valid Driver’s license and willingness to transport residents in company vehicle
