Summary:
The Services Coordinator will coordinate services that benefit residents in affordable housing communities; this is a part-time position, 20 hours per week, with some schedule flexibility between Monday and Thursday. Part-time located in Coachella, CA.
Responsibilities:
- Implement supportive service programs and activities for the benefit of residents in an affordable housing community. Resident population focus: youth and families.
- Facilitate and enhance adult & youth programs that focus on educational, health and wellness, economic wellness, and community enrichment.
- Work collaboratively within a team to coordinate events and activities.
- Conduct outreach to residents to motivate and encourage participation in supportive service programs.
- Conduct outreach to community organizations and agencies to promote positive mutual community involvement and develop/cultivate partnerships for benefit of community.
- Maintain a comprehensive list of community resources for resident referrals.
- Conduct case management and resource/referral for residents in areas of employment, health, and mental health issues and financial counseling.
- Prepare and maintain accurate written reports as requested by supervisor for regulatory agencies and funding sources on a timely basis.
- Outreach, engagement and commitment to residents as an important part of the community team.
- Developing, planning and evaluation of programs that foster a learning and growing environment for residents to increase self-sufficiency and goal achievement.
- Promote resident leadership and work collaboratively to build and promote a sense of community.
Candidate Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in human services or related field.
- CDL with reliable transportation to drive between locations (Required)

Experience:
- Human Services

Experience: 2 years (Required)
- Two years’ experience in supporting low-income youth and families through community-building efforts.
Skills:
- Fluency in both English and Spanish required.
- Demonstrate ability to independently plan and organize activities, with minimal supervision
- Demonstrate ability to supervise others.
- Demonstrate knowledge of community resources and services for residents.
- Able to use a personal computer, including word processing and spreadsheet software.
- Able to work cooperatively as a member of a housing team (with resident services and property management) and accept supervision and training.
- Possess a valid California Driving License, a good driving record and a vehicle with a current registration and insurance.
- Available for occasional evening and weekend meetings and special events with residents as needed.
Working Conditions
- Work is performed primarily at program sites and community spaces within housing communities.
- May require occasional local travel between sites.
- Will occasionally be required to work outdoors during events or community activities.
- Exposure to noise typical in group settings involving children or youth.
- Must be comfortable working in multicultural and socioeconomically diverse environments.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds of supplies or equipment.
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, and reaching during program set-up, facilitation, and clean-up.
- Ability to sit for extended periods while assisting with homework or administrative tasks.
- Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and to interact with program participants.
