Resident EngineerThis role has been designed as ‘’Onsite’ with an expectation that you will primarily work from an HPE office.

What You’ll Do:

• Design and develop engineering solutions for networking products, systems, software, and customer environments using established engineering principles and best practices.
• Develop and execute validation plans, testing methodologies, and implementation procedures for new and existing network designs.
• Lead and support moderately complex networking and cloud infrastructure projects involving cross-functional engineering teams and external partners.
• Collaborate with internal engineering, JTAC, escalation, and customer teams to resolve technical issues and ensure successful project delivery.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to junior engineers and project team members.
• Communicate project status, technical risks, solution designs, and migration strategies effectively to customers and management.
• Analyze network trends and recommend scalable, efficient, and reliable solutions for customer environments.
• Support routing architecture, migration, optimization, and troubleshooting activities within large-scale IP service provider networks.
• Work on technologies including BGP, OSPF, ISIS, MPLS, EVPN, L3VPN, IPv6, QoS, Ethernet switching, and SDN solutions.
• Design, configure, and troubleshoot Juniper platforms including MX, QFX, and EX series devices using JUNOS CLI.
• Support automation and operational efficiency initiatives using scripting technologies such as Python or SLAX.

What You Need to Bring:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Networking, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of experience in networking, cloud, or service provider environments.
• Strong understanding of IP routing and switching technologies including BGP, OSPF, ISIS, MPLS, RSVP, LDP, EVPN, VPLS, IPv6, and QoS.
• Hands-on experience with Juniper networking platforms including MX, QFX, and EX series using JUNOS CLI.
• Knowledge of route reflector topologies, routing policies, migration strategies, and network scaling mechanisms.
• Experience with VPN technologies including MPLS VPN, EVPN, and L3VPN environments.
• Understanding of cloud networking architecture and Software Defined Networking (SDN) concepts.
• Scripting or automation experience using Python, SLAX, or similar technologies.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills within complex network environments.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong customer-facing and presentation capabilities.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within global and cross-functional teams.
• Experience interacting with customer support, escalation, and engineering teams in enterprise or service provider environments.
• Database knowledge or experience is considered a plus.
