Job Description
Specialist utilities organisation, enjoying a sustained period of growth, requires a Resident Engineer, on either a contract or permanent basis. The primary purpose of the role is to make sure works are carried out in line with client requirements and contract. HV cable projects.
Job Outline:
- Ensure works are completed to the highest standards
- Make sure any minor faults are corrected
- Make sure works comply with client requirements, regulations and legislation governing the industry
- Ensure that materials used are as per those outlined in contract
- Any changes or alterations (such as design modifications and variations) must be agreed with client's management team
- Be responsible for site diary and recording of works progress, including photographs
- Complete weekly report
- Highlight any non-conformances and report any issues related to contractor performance
- Monitor and sign-off site activities
- Liaise with client and site teams, attend site coordination meetings
- Ensure adherence to health and safety, drawing attention to any failings
- Agree the quality standards with site and client teams and partake in benchmarking reviews
- Take part in audits of works carried out, as well as site walks to check on work progress and quality
- Meet with client every week
- Monitor as-built drawings and records, check designs and drawings
- Take part in review of project once completed, with a view to find future improvements
Experience and Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Resident Engineer or Section Engineer, ideally in the HV or civil engineering sectors - previous experience of HV cabling projects a bonus
- Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering dicsipline
- Excellent communications skills, self-motivated, problem solver, attention to detail, organised, computer literate
