We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Resident Construction Manager (Mechanical) to lead on-site execution of industrial / manufacturing projects. The candidate will be responsible for end-to-end construction management of mechanical and MEP works, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

The role requires strong expertise in mechanical systems (HVAC, piping, utilities, firefighting) along with the ability to coordinate across Civil, Electrical, and Instrumentation disciplines. The individual will act as the single-point site lead, managing contractors, stakeholders, and project deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

Project Execution & Site Management

  • Lead and manage day-to-day construction activities at site for mechanical and MEP works.
  • Ensure execution as per approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
  • Supervise installation of HVAC systems, utility piping systems, firefighting systems and mechanical equipment (chillers, AHUs, compressors, pumps, etc.)
  • Ensure proper sequencing and coordination with civil, electrical, and instrumentation works.
  • Monitor site productivity, identify bottlenecks, and drive corrective actions.

Contract & Vendor Management

  • Manage contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of scope.
  • Review and monitor contractor performance against scope, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Support billing certification, verification of quantities, and contract compliance.
  • Handle change orders, variation management, and claims for mechanical scope.
  • Participate in vendor meetings and coordination reviews.

Planning & Monitoring

  • Work closely with planning engineers to track project schedules and milestones.
  • Monitor progress vs baseline schedule and flag delays or risks.
  • Support preparation of look-ahead plans and recovery schedules.
  • Ensure alignment of resource deployment with project timelines.

Quality Assurance & Control

  • Ensure adherence to quality standards, specifications, and industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and quality audits.
  • Ensure proper material inspections, testing, and approvals.
  • Address non-conformances and ensure timely closure of quality issues.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure strict implementation of EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) policies on site.
  • Coordinate with safety teams to ensure safe execution of all mechanical works.
  • Monitor compliance with permit-to-work systems and high-risk activity controls.
  • Promote a zero-harm safety culture across the project.

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Act as the primary point of contact at site for client, consultants, and internal teams.
  • Conduct and lead weekly/monthly progress meetings.
  • Coordinate across disciplines to ensure smooth project execution and issue resolution.
  • Provide regular updates to Project Manager / PMO team.

Documentation & MIS Reporting

  • Maintain records of daily progress reports, site instructions and logs and contractor performance
  • Support preparation of monthly project reports, progress dashboards and risk and issue logs
  • Ensure proper documentation and reporting through SharePoint / project systems.

Essential Candidate Requirements

  • Extensive experience in industrial / manufacturing / EPC projects.
  • Strong technical expertise in HVAC systems, mechanical utilities and piping, firefighting systems and MEP coordination
  • Proven experience in site execution and construction management.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and specifications, construction sequencing and contract management principles
  • Ability to manage large contractor teams and multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in high-pressure site environments with strict timelines.
  • Good knowledge of project planning and scheduling interfaces.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
