TheResident CareAssistantparticipatesinthe directand indirect care to residents,families,and significant others at the Hospice location.They willoperateunder the direction of the Resident Care Team Leader.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Is accountable for the documentation of care provided and status ofresidents.

• Is accountable for theresident’spersonal care and hygiene, activities, ambulation, safety,nutrition,and hydration.

• Maintaincleanand safe environment forresidents.

• Assistin preparing meals andsnacks.

• Working with volunteers

• Coordinates andmaintaincleanand safe environment for residents, oversees meal and snack preparedness.

• Participates in Quality Assurance projects.

• Basedinexperiencemay be asked toassistas ‘on-call’ staff.

• Performs other duties as assigned by theResident Care Team Leader orDirector ofOmega House.

Education, Licensure/Certification:

• High School diploma or equivalent

• Successful completion of Nurse Aide program withcertificationpreferred.

• BLS certificationrequired.

Experience,Skills/Abilities Related Requirements:

• Can work to prescribe nursing standards including the physical demands of standing,walking,and moving most of the time without liftingrestrictions.

• 1 Year experience specific to Persons with AIDS or Hospice

Continuing Education and Training Requirements

• Participates intrainingsrequired by the agency, funding source(s), and/or as required by licensure if applicable.
