We are currently seeking a caring, dependable, and energetic Resident Assistant to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys building meaningful relationships, providing exceptional customer service, and making a positive impact in the lives of seniors.
While this position does not provide direct nursing care, Resident Assistants play an essential role in enhancing our residents' quality of life through companionship, support, and assistance with daily routines.
Position: Resident Assistant
Location: Lake Providence Care Center – Lake Providence, LA
Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday with weekend availability as needed
Pay: Competitive hourly wage based on experience
As a Resident Assistant, you will help create a comfortable, engaging, and supportive environment for our residents by:
Escorting residents to meals, activities, appointments, and other scheduled events.
Assisting with transportation to appointments, including safely pushing wheelchairs and providing hydration when appropriate.
Encouraging residents with daily routines, including:
Personal hygiene
Oral care
Grooming and appearance
Dressing appropriate for weather and personal preferences
Setting up personal care items such as toothbrushes, combs, brushes, and other hygiene supplies.
Assisting residents with glasses, hearing aids, and other personal belongings.
Encouraging participation in recreational and social activities while providing assistance when needed.
Responding promptly to resident call lights and notifying nursing staff of any care needs requiring clinical assistance.
Helping maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming living environment.
Offering water and approved snacks in accordance with resident dietary restrictions.
Providing companionship, conversation, and emotional support to promote resident well-being.
Supporting the interdisciplinary team in delivering exceptional resident-centered care.
Must be at least 18 years of age
High school diploma or GED preferred
Compassionate, patient, and service-oriented
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
Basic computer skills with the ability to learn company software
Ability to push wheelchairs, assist residents with mobility, and remain active throughout the workday
Must successfully pass all required background screenings and pre-employment requirements
