The primary purpose of a residential manager is to create a supportive and nurturing environment, ensuring high-quality care, and promoting independence and community integration for the persons we support. The resident manager is responsible for maintaining the financial, compliance, training and staffing needs of the residence.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring the delivery of person-centered supports and services that enhance the quality of life for person-supported. Provide strategic leadership, directive, and oversight to residential staff through coaching, training, developing and retaining employees toward excellence.
  • Leading the programs physical plant monitoring, budgeting, incident management and personal allowance in according to all Comprehensive Functional Plans, Life Plans, Behavior support plans and treatment plans that promote personal growth, independence, and community integration as per regulatory agency and NY Foundling
  • Daily observation on-site to ensure environmental physical plant residence and monitor for demonstration of DSP competencies, skills by all employees to ensure ADL, clothing, financial, health needs, behavior management techniques, and emergency procedures
  • Collaborate with nursing, clinical and IDT departments to ensure continuity of care. Identify and manage health trends of the individuals by working with DD team to prevent incidents or deterioration of our individuals living space.
  • Oversee budget planning, financial operations, and resource allocation to optimize program sustainability and ensure fiscal responsibility.
  • Manage staffing levels to ensure appropriate levels of service is provided. Identify and facilitate training and development of staff. Timely Performance Reviews to ensure employees are productive, accountable, and successful in their positions. Manage OT, Staffing Assignments and documentation in Evolv for all documentation.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with community partners, advocates, and stakeholders to enhance support networks, promote inclusive opportunities, and advocate for the rights of persons supported.
  • Coordinate with Incident/Fleet/ Centralized Scheduler/HR/Facilities for necessary process, monitor for patterns, and provide feedback for action necessary action items respond effectively to situations, implementing protocols in a calm and efficient manner.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in residential services, including 1+ year in a supervisory or managerial role within a developmental disabilities agency.
  • Valid NY/NJ/CT/PA Driver’s License with 6 months of experience and 6 or less points
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities, resolve conflicts, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Dedication to providing compassionate and dignified care for individuals with developmental disabilities, promoting their rights, choices, and independence.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to identifying challenges, implementing solutions, and driving continuous improvement.
  • Ability to build effective relationships, work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, and advocate for inclusive practices and community integration.
  • Demonstrated strong commitment to safety.

Education Required

Bachelor’s Degree from a U.S. accredited educational institution or Credential Evaluation for a non-U.S. educational institution

Salary Range:

$72,846/year + Education Additive ($3,800/year Masters or Higher)
