Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma

About Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma

Girl Scouts builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.

Girl Scouting began on March 12, 1912 in the USA. In 1917, the first Girl Scout troops were formed in several cities and towns in Oklahoma. Over the years there have been many consolidations of councils throughout the state.

On June 1, 2008, three councils joined to form Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma (GSEOK). Our transformation was part of the national GSUSA strategy to develop high capacity, high performance councils that would more efficiently recruit and serve young women. The council covers 30 counties and 30,000 square miles in eastern

Oklahoma.

We’re the preeminent leadership development organization for girls. And with programs from coast to coast and across the globe, Girl Scouts offers every girl a chance to practice a lifetime of leadership, adventure, and success.
