TheCupido Labat St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is excited to announce an opening for a Temporary Researcher position. This position is limited to 1,000 hours and is ideal for highly motivated individuals looking to contribute to cutting-edge research in cancer epigenetics. The Cupido Lab focuses on developing innovative chemistry-based approaches to exploring the role of RNA in nuclear organization and genome function. Our mission is driven by the goal of understanding and targeting cancer epigenetic mechanisms.
The Temporary Researcher will conduct standard cell biology and biochemistry experiments, troubleshoot protocols, and maintain detailed records. Key procedures include cell culture, cell transfection, immunohistochemistry, ChIP-Seq, RNA-seq, and protein expression and purification.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable collaborating closely with other lab members and colleagues and will actively participate in different lab research efforts. A strong interest in staying current with the latest literature in chemical and chromatin/cancer biology is highly desirable.

Responsibilities:
Assist with laboratory research on multiple projects.
Perform experiments as directed, report and communicate data supporting both publications and presentations.
Learn new techniques and experimental procedures to support scientific inquiry within the laboratory.
Follows basic protocols, implementing experimental techniques prescribed by the supervisor and providing basic troubleshooting where appropriate.
Accurately records experimental procedures and data.
May draft results/data for posters, presentations, or publications.
Operates lab equipment.
Performs other related duties as assigned in order to meet the goals of the department and institution.
Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific area is required.
Minimum Experience:
No experience required.
Some laboratory experience is preferred.
Compensation
In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $10.00 - $72.11 per hour for the role of Researcher (Temp)- Cupido Lab.
