The Sony Audio Institute at NYU Steinhardt (the Institute) seeks a part-time Researcher to support the Institute's emerging research portfolio.
The Institute was created by NYU Steinhardt leadership and faculty and Sony's Personal Entertainment Business, which is responsible for Sony's professional and consumer audio business and heavily focused on its engagement and support of music and creators at all levels. The Institute serves as a dynamic hub where students can connect classroom learning with real-world music industry experience.
The part-time Researcher will collaborate with the Institute’s leadership on two strands of work: (1) to plan and moderate a series of focus groups with NYU students, and (2) to facilitate a seed grant program to support NYU student and faculty research projects. Specific responsibilities include the following:
This is a part-time position of 8 hours per week, and will required onsite presence at NYU's Washington Square, New York City, campus. The anticipated start date is October 5, 2026, for an initial appointment of approximately six months.
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the hourly pay range for this position is $45.00-$50.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.
