Job Description

The Department of Neurological Surgery at Tulane University School of Medicine is seeking a neurosurgery researcher to join the faculty as its Neuroscience program continues to expand.

Their job responsibilities may include:

  • Designing and conducting experiments to test hypotheses about brain function and behavior.
  • Analyzing data using statistical and computational methods to draw conclusions about the brain and nervous system.
  • Collaborating with other researchers and scientific teams to share ideas and resources.
  • Presenting research findings at conferences and publishing papers in scientific journals.
  • Mentoring junior researchers and students in laboratory techniques and scientific methodology.
  • Staying up-to-date with current trends and developments in the field of neuroscience.
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed records of experiments and data.

As a university-employed faculty member, the incumbent will receive a competitive salary and academic appointment commensurate with experience, a comprehensive benefits package, and a relocation allowance.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have a Ph.D. in neuroscience or a related field, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, experience with laboratory techniques and equipment, and excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Previous experience with research grant funding is preferred.
