
The Research Technician position provides support for ongoing research efforts in the Nguyen lab. The individual hired for this position will be involved in helping set up and perform experiments in the lab. This position includes numerous opportunities to work with an interdisciplinary group of collaborators across biochemistry, bioengineering, and medicine and for publication, which can provide a strong basis for future applications to advanced degree programs.
Duties and Responsibility:
Assist with experiments, including stereotaxic surgery, immunohistochemistry, imaging, electrophysiology, and behavioral pharmacology
Analyze experimental results using computer-aided data analysis software
Maintains accurate databases and experimental notebooks of results
Communicates results in a timely fashion
Assist with mouse colony maintenance and husbandry
Prepare buffers and reagents
Assist with general laboratory operation, maintenance, and inventory
Qualifications:
Attention to detail is necessary and work with minimal supervision
