Job Category: ResearchThe research lab of Dr. Kalyan Venkata in the St. Louis College of Pharmacy / Center for Clinical Pharmacology at University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis (UHSP) is currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented MS-level technician for the position of part-time research technician II to help support Dr. Venkata's research. The candidate will play a key role in executing experiments, analyzing data, and maintaining laboratory operations in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This is a two-month grant-funded position. The position will work 20-25 hours per week and will follow the UHSP calendar for holidays and university closures.
You will get to:
- Design and execute experiments under supervision
- Perform routine and advanced laboratory techniques
- Analyze, interpret, and document experimental data
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and notebooks
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment
- Assist in method development and optimization
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to project goals
QualificationsTo succeed in this role, you will need:
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree (MS) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field
- 0-3 years of relevant laboratory experience (academic or industry)
- Strong understanding of laboratory techniques (e.g., synthesis, chromatography, — customize as needed)
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred
Qualifications:
- Experience with techniques such as HPLC, LC-MS, NMR
- Familiarity with GLP/GMP environments
- Data analysis using software tools (e.g., Excel, GraphPad, ChemDraw)
- Experience in drug discovery or formulation development
