Performs general operational assistance in the laboratory. This person will assist in day-to-day lab operations while conducting straight forward experiments.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES TYPICALLY NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS JOB SUCCESSFULLY:
Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally
Ability to use a PC or Mac computer and Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). To create instruction material, reports and equipment brochures.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Familiarity with the operations of basic laboratory equipment; ability to troubleshoot minor malfunctions of scientific equipment holdings.
Excellent record keeping and file maintenance skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to work with mice on a daily to weekly basis.
Proficient in working with databases.
Ability to work on projects under the supervision of the PI.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
One year of lab experience or college level science courses
