The Alhadeff lab at the Monell Chemical Senses Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA is seeking a full-time Research Technician to help with ongoing research on gut-brain signaling and how it contributes to the neural control of feeding behavior.
The position involves assisting with lab organization and management as well as performing primary neuroscience research using rodent models. The Research Technician will be trained by PhD level staff on basic neuroscience research techniques including behavioral assays, imaging, optogenetics, chemogenetics, histology, colony care, breeding and management techniques, and basic wet lab and organizational skills. Flexibility with scheduled hours is necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
·Learning and performing basic neuroscience techniques in rodent models, including behavioral assays, imaging, optogenetics, chemogenetics, and/or histology
·Learning and performing surgical techniques
·Working with other lab members on collaborative research projects
·Analyzing data, writing experimental reports and data summaries, and presenting research findings to others in the lab
Assisting with lab organization, cleaning, ordering, and management
