A Research Technician position is available in Dr. Yunmeng Liu’s laboratory within the Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology at UAMS. The lab focuses on immune dysfunction and its role in chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and heart failure. The Research Technician will support laboratory operations by conducting experiments, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with general lab functions.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED PLUS two (2) years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred:

• Experience working in a molecular and/or cellular biology laboratory or related biosciences field

• Experience working with laboratory animals

Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

• Perform research experiments including animal handling, genotyping, cell culture, PCR, Western Blot, flow cytometry, and microscopy

• Maintain accurate and detailed experimental records (electronic and hardcopy)

• Assist with data entry and basic analysis

• Manage ordering processes (quotes, submissions, tracking, and receiving)

• Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and reagents

• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety procedures, policies, and audits

• Train new staff and students on basic laboratory techniques

• Support adherence to University, State, and Federal laboratory regulations

• Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor
