IntroductionThe Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health has ten community-based field sites across Pakistan (including four in Karachi) and focuses on research for betterment of women and child health. The Department has a Nutritional Research Laboratory as well as an Infectious Disease Research Laboratory that cater to the needs of its research projects. It has well-acclaimed work to its credit both at the national and international level.

ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible to:ensure proper identification and registration of patients as per study protocolsupervise and monitor timely visits of participants’ for follow upsmonitor and report protocol deviationsdevelop SoPs and manual of operation for study activitiesprovide training to the study staff as per the protocols and guidelines of studyperform comprehensive Pre-MRI scan Sedation examinations to establish medical history, current health, and sedation risk factorsensure the completeness, proper filings, and archiving of the datadevelop and implement QA QC plan with documentation and reportingassist in the sedation, and monitoring during and after MRI proceduresproficient in airway control and ready to address breathing or oxygenation concernsprepare and compile of study progress reportcollaborate with the Data Manager, prepare monthly project reportspresent the study results as per the requirementdevelop high quality research proposals for funding agency; conduct research and actively contribute in publications
RequirementYou should have:MBBS degree, preferably with MCPS or any other additional qualification or any other relevant degree or;A Master of Science in Epidemiology & Biostatistics, Statistics, Public Health, Health Policy and Management, EconomicsAt least 5 years of relevant experience in a clinical settingExcellent knowledge of research methodologies and data analysis techniquesCertification in Basic Life Support, PALS will be preferredExcellent interpersonal skills, particularly communication skillsProficiency in the use of computer applications, particularly MS Office and other relevant software packages for data entry and analysisAbility to effectively work independently as well as in teams and establish harmonious working relations at the workplaceProficiency in medical record documentationQualified in IV Sedation will be preferred
