Research Specialist, Institute for Educational DevelopmentLocation: Karachi, PakistanIntroductionAga Khan University, chartered in 1983 as Pakistan's first private international university, is committed to the provision of education, research, and health care of international standards relevant to Pakistan and the region. The aim of AKU-IED is to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of schools and other educational institutions in the country through innovation, policy development, practice, training and research.The project aims to develop a Teacher Career Pathway and Promotion Framework that provides clear, merit-based, and performance-oriented progression routes for teachers. The framework further works in linking teachers career progression with their classroom performance; allowing for dual pathways to excel as a teacher or leader; integrating evidence of teacher’s performance indicators; improving teachers motivation; and introducing teaching licenses. In short that aim of the framework is to establish a system of transparent, competency-based career system for the teachers of Balochistan.This is a grant-funded contractual position.ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible to:visit project schools and collect data using available toolsconduct literature reviews as requiredcoordinate with the project team to support the timely completion of deliverablesassist the PI and Co-PIs in developing and maintaining the project databaseundertake data entry and data processing to generate content for various reporting purposesassist the research team in monitoring project progressattend events, including training sessions and workshops, to document training processes, procedures, and outcomes.

Requirements:You should have:a Master’s degree in Education or Social Sciences from a reputable national or international universityat least three years of experience in a responsible role within large-scale research projectsstrong verbal and written communication skills in English and Urduexperience in conducting multiple genres of literature reviews and report writing, including narrative, scoping, and systematic reviewsproficiency in developing and applying data collection toolscompetence in data management, data entry, and data processing.Comprehensive employment reference checks will be conducted.
